Here are a few things to remember to help you make this season your player’s best yet:
- Attendance at practice is expected. If your player cannot make it to practice, communicate with their coach as soon as you know so they may adjust their plan.
- Remember that in practice and in matches, your player is developing skills to take with them to their next soccer experience. Lose, win or draw, they will come away from games and the season with more fitness, knowledge and experience than if they hadn’t participated.
- Your player is part of a TEAM. Encourage them to work as a UNIT.
- You represent Coldbrook Travel Soccer Club. Make yourself and all of us proud of you by being a good sport. Always cheer your player’s team and minimize singling out one player for praise. Never call out a player’s mistake. Never coach from the sidelines or back-talk coaches or referees! WE HAVE ZERO-TOLERANCE FOR VERBAL OR PHYSICAL ABUSE OF OTHERS.
- You will be asked to read and sign the parent agreement for the season. This agreement outlines the expected behaviors of you as a parent.
- Coldbrook Travel Soccer Club coaches and assistants are expected to report any suspected cases of child-abuse or neglect, and therefore must share with the proper authorities any information regarding same that is divulged to them by players.
- Ensure your player plays a clean game – no foul play.
- Talk and ask questions with your player’s coach about practice and/or match concerns but encourage your player to make their best effort to do so FIRST.
- Follow the communication chain of command prescribed by Soccer Maine (CTSC’s parent organization): Seek your player’s coach, then the club president for discussion of concerns. Leave off there. Our club president will communicate with coaches from other clubs and/or Soccer Maine administration as needed. This is NOT the role of parents. Reserve your energy for your players.
- If you have questions or feedback for your player’s coach, please wait 24 hours before contacting them. Otherwise, you can reach out to the Club’s Director of Coaching or President regarding your concerns.
- Ensure proper nutrition and rest for your player to be at their best. The travel season is tiring for them!

Time Commitment
The Club supports a Travel soccer program. Players are expected to play games during the weekend and participate in practice sessions during the week. Typically, most teams hold two practices per week. However, at the 7th and 8th grade level, teams may practice less, due to many players participating on school-based teams. Practices may be more frequent near the end of the season as teams prepare for the end of season tournaments. Games are held primarily on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Game opponents will be made up of other travel teams throughout the State of Maine.
Fees – What’s Included
Fees
CTSC charges an individual player fee to be considered for inclusion on a Classic League team. The fee is $175 for the first child and $150 for each additional child. It covers team registrations to Soccer Maine, player passes, player insurance, referees, equipment, field usage fees, coaching education and training, the CTSC website, Labor Day weekend and Columbus Day weekend tournament registrations, uniforms and other Club costs. The fee is set by the CTSC Board of Directors prior to registration for each season and must be paid in full.
Refunds of Player Fees
Any parent requesting a refund of registration fees for children they registered shall be granted a full refund of registration fees prior to evaluations. Refunds may be given after evaluations, but CTSC reserves the right to obtain a $25 processing fee.
Financial Aid
CTSC offers financial aid for players. No player will be denied an opportunity to play for financial reasons. Parents should contact the registrar for more information.
A word about Coldbrook Travel Soccer’s organization
We are one of many Maine clubs formed under Soccer Maine, a division of US Youth Soccer Association. Aside from our generous and talented coaches, we operate due to the volunteer efforts of our president and board of directors. If you are interested in helping out, please don’t hesitate to mention it to your player’s coach and they will direct you to the best person with whom to discuss.
All players, and their parents, are expected to commit to the CTSC Code of Conduct. You may find a copy of the Code of Conduct here.
